Liposuction
combined with miniabdominoplasty, a very satisfying procedure
in body contour surgery
These days one of the most common aesthetic surgery procedures
is abdominoplasty with liposuction, whose initials in English
are SAL, and it is used to correct complete abdominal
deformities in certain patients. Liposuction alone can produce
a good abdominal contour but can not correct muscle fascia
deformities. The opposite is true with abdominoplasty alone -
it corrects the muscular deformities and the excesses of fat
but without giving a very appropriate contour to the abdominal
wall. It is used more in patients with a large abdomen that
present a deformity in the form of a flap. Few patients
present either only fat, or only relaxed muscle-fascia, for
which only one of these interventions would be necessary.
The mini abdominoplasty combined with liposuction, with its
skin scars, limited dissection of subcutaneous tissue and
reduced morbidity, could correct the fat deformities and the
deformities of the inferior abdominal wall muscle.
For patients who have lost a lot of weight causing an excess
of skin, the spare skin can be pulled back by means of a
miniabdominalplasty without a lot of cutting of the
subcutaneous tissue. This procedure brings few or no
complications, and is simpler and quicker to carry out.
This surgery is directed to young, middle-age patients who
have fat accumulations located in the inferior part of the
abdomen - from the navel down - and who have significant
muscular flaccidness due to a lack of exercise.
Now that the abdomens are in fashion because of clothing
styles and accessories, these combined procedures may be the
best alternative to improve people’s image and self-esteem.
